Badami Trip and Travel Tales

Hello All my Travelophonic Friends!!!
Hope u all are Staying Safe at Home.Lets fight Corona together.

This is my 1st intro to the Amazing blogging world and its wonderful folks..
I am about to take my 1st Baby step into the exciting, curious and adventurus world of travel blogging
I am attempting to narrate a personal travel story experience I had  couple of years back ( During my Jawani ke Din when i was a reckless driver;)
My travel conspiraacy ( as my wifey loves to say!!) starts when my beloved Baiko (Wifey) was in Nagpur at her Maika and I was alone in Kolhapur (like the kids in Home Alone Movie).

I searched for some exciting places in Karnataka and found out that Kudal Sangam located in Bagalkot Dist of Karnataka is a awesome place. Its around 300 odd Km from Kolhapur depending on route you take.

I planned for ride through Kolhapur- Chikkodi-Kabbor-Mudalgi- MUDHOL- Lokapur- Kalaldgi- Bagalkot- Kudal Sangam. Started with basic packing as always and was about to hop on to Helicopter (A.k.a. my 1st Wife A.k.a. Royal Enfield Bullet Electra 350) . This Marrige with RE occured long back in year 2010 and still going strong!!!! Mind u it was a love at First Sight...
But luck had something else and my wife was ill so borrower a Avenger from a Badnasib Office friend Rahul . Why Badnasib? Plz read on to know the suspense..

So here i was on my bike roaring to go and started at 7 AM from Home on 09th Dec 2017. Reached Kudal Sangam at noon and firstly enjoyed a super refreshing lota full of mattha ( Buttermilk) .

Disclaimer: Details Cut Pasted from wikpedia (Thodi mehnat kam lagi type krne me) The Krishna and Malaprabha River rivers merge here and flow east towards Srisailam (another pilgrim center) Andhra Pradesh. The holy Samādhi of Basavanna, the founder of the Lingayat sect of Hindu religion along with Linga, which is believed to be self-born (Swayambhu),

Now comes the Mazedaar part. The Samadhi of lord Basavanna is located exactly in centre of River on the rever bed!!!! They has recently made a Well like concrete structure in centre of River which you can climb down to visit samadhi. Such a pleasant , calm place it is.

After spending 1 Hr at Kudal it was time to head back home since i had planned fro 1 day trip. But suddenly the bug inside me woke up and said Bhai Itne me Kya Hoga... Ye Dil mange More..
Then again after asking Google Mama about dist of Badami , i decided to move to Badami some 69 km from here.

Road was small and dusty lined with huge pink coloured rocks making some strange natural shapes all across the road.It was fun actually. Reached Badami at 4 PM since all the sign boards on highway were in Kannada so I used a trick to know if the board has badami written. Simple I just copied image of Badami design in Kannda from one of bilingual signboard and it was easy then!!

I visited all amazingly ancient and beautiful places near Badami like Agastya lake, Aihole, Mahakuteshwar Temple, Rangnath Temple , Pattadakal  and returned to Badami city for search of Hotel to stay. After searching for half an hour , finally got decent place for Rs 400 near Main Bus Stand. Had delicious food opposite my hotel and day ends.

Next day morning woke up , had a nice hair cut (Yes Hair cut near a small tapari oppo bus stand to look more handsome while i took selfies with Super awesome Badami Caves!!! )
Here are some wonderful videos of Badami Caves on YouTube

Visited Badami caves and was mesmerized by the talent those ancient people had. Simply mesmerising.

Started return journey to Kolhapur on 10th Dec at 12 noon. Reched in good condition till MUDHOL and suddenly a drunk man came across by bike . Fir Kya dham dhum Dhudummm.. He and is both were thrown on oppo sides of road and that was became unconsious. I was scared to death since it was a main city road , lot of people gathered near me and guy was bleeding profusely being unconsious. But I tried to remain calm since I have done lot of live on job sessions on how to face a accident.. Haha. Luckily for me the guy was on wrong side and drunk but was a localite. Also one local biker was behind me since i left Badami and he narrated that I was not wrong to people surrounding me. So Maar khane se to bacha lliya bhai ne... Suddenly police van came and then the show started in Police station.

Local police was trying to scare me along with other people. But I was strong and was adamant to leave with my bike . After a 8 hr drama and couple of calls to some influential friends , I was allowed to leave at 8 PM by donating Rs 2000 .
Bike was severely damaged but was running  and I  had a fractured right foot which was now swollen like a Ballon and was paining like hell.

With no money left, bike with a twisted handle like KURKURE snack and baloon leg I managed to reach a place called Belagalli near mahalinpur and had a malampatti of Bike at 10 Pm in local garage with help of Local friend. He also gave me Rs 2000 as udhar.
Finally after riding for more than 150 km in Chilling night on isolated Highway I reached Kolhapur at 1 AM injured but ready to Roar again after a plaster on right foot for 1.5 months......

Now you know reason why I called my poor office friend as Badnaseeb !!! Also why MUDHOL is written in CAPS all over....
And ya later is came to know that a breed of Dog from Mudhol is famous for their detective like skills and used by Dog Squad as well...
Maza Aaya Kya??
